Animal Welfare Coalition

The Heritage Humane Society is a founding member of the Animal Welfare Coalition of Hampton Roads, and shares in the great success of this organization. AWCHR received a commendation from the 2004 General Assembly for its efforts to end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals. The HHS has made great progress towards that goal, as well. Book Fund at the Williamsburg Regional
Library

We are proud to partner with The Williamsburg Regional Library to help promote the education of pet owners on their furry friends. Through a private endowment, a perpetual book fund was established in 2000 at the Williamsburg Regional Library on behalf of the Shelter. All money donated to the Book Fund is used to purchase children's books about animals, both wild and domestic. Contributions to the Book Fund should be made as to the HHS and designated for the book fund.

Antique Mall Booth

The members of the Auxiliary maintain a booth at the Williamsburg Antique Mall in Lightfoot, and are always in need of people to volunteer a few hours to help wrap purchased items in exchange for this booth. If you have any free time on Friday or Saturday from 1-6pm, or would like to donate an item, please contact the shelter at 221-0150.
